The Intel® G31 Express Chipset supports dual-channel DDR2 (6.4GB/s) architecture with a 1333MHz (MAX ) FSB (Front Side Bus) and multi-core CPUs, DDR3 is not supported, the FSB of the MSI G31TM-P35 has a max of 1600MHz when OCed.
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 delivers DirectX 9.0c graphics performance with Shader Model 2.0 and OpenGL* 1.4. (G41 chipset has DX10, SM 4.0 and OGL 2.1)
It has a maximum of 4 SATA2 (3GB/s), 6 USB2 and 4 PCIe X1 connectors (The MSI G31TM-P35 has no PCIe X1 connector). The G31 chipset also supports RAID(0,1,5,10), but MSI did not implement this feature on the G31TM-P35.
The PCIe 1.1 X16 has only half the speed of PCIe version 2.0 X16. If you plan to upgrade your video card in (the near) future this should be taken into consideration, as graphics cards become faster and faster.
