Conclusion: This mobo is a solid foundation if you are looking for a powerful multi-videocard gaming system. There's lots of room for expansion and combined with an AMD Phenom II X6 processor and Radeon HD58xx videocards this might be the right board for performance enthusiasts and gamers.

Overclocking: Bus clock overcloking lead toa stable frequency of 240MHz BCLK. Memory 4GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3-1600C9.

ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe Intel P55 Chipset Pro Clockers reviewed the ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe


This board was compared to the Gigabyte P55A-UD6 and the Asrock H55M Pro.

Conclusion: This mobo is solid, stable and easy overclockable with features like dual LAN, USB3, SATA3, phase power regulators, eSATA and overclocking remote.

Overclocking: A Core i5 750 was overclocked @ 3911.1MHz with a BCLK of 195.6MHz. Base Clock overclocking: the max BCLK was 226.0 MHz. -- Memory: 2x2GB 160MHZ DDR3 OCZ PC12800 -- PSU: Thermaltake Tough Power XT 1000 -- Air cooler: Thermaltake Silent 1156.

Benchmarks: PC and 3D mark Vantage, Sisoft Sandra, Lavalys Everest, Maxon Cinebench, Super Pi, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, Tech ARP x264 HD 3.15, HD Tune, CPU-Z. In the gaming benches a Sapphire HD 5750 Video Card was used.

ECS A890GXM-A AMD 890GX Chipset alienbabeltech reviewed the ECS A890GXM-A


This motherboard was compared to the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P.

Conclusion: A solid product that overclocks and performs well. This mobo is perfect for a Home Theatre PC or a work PC that can also do some gaming, but not with the lates games. There are no IDE, mouse or Floppy connectors.

Overclocking: A Phenom II 955 X4 was OCed @3.9GHz. -- Memory: 4 GB Kingston DDR3 RAM -- PSU: OCZ 850 watt.

ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe Intel P55 Chipset ocia reviewed the ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe


This board was not compared to another board, instead it was compared to its own overclocking results.

Conclusion: This mobo has a logical component layout with USB3, SATA3, side-angled SATA connectors, onboard power-reset and a rear CMOS clear button. Q-Design for diagnosing, installing and removing hardware and MemOK for memory boot compatibility. The bundle includes very useful software suites like TurboV EVO, PC Probe II and T.Probe. The reviewer gave it a Gold Seal of Approval based on its feature set, performance, stability and included software.

Overclocking: Using the Auto Tuning feature, the reviewer hit 4,255 MHz, rock stable in Windows. CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Silent 1156 -- Memory: 4GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistix Tracer -- OS: Windows 7 x64.

Benchmarks: 3D Mark 2006, PC Mark Vantage x64, Cinebench 10R, Lightsmark 2008, SiSoft Sandra, SuperPi, USB 3.0, SiSoft Sandra Physical Disk, ATTO Disk Benchmark, CrystalDiskMark 2.2 and HD Tune 2.55. . In the gaming benches an ATI Radeon HD 5850 was used.

ASUS Rampage III Extreme Intel X58 Chipset itshootout reviewed the ASUS Rampage III Extreme


This mainboard was compared to the ASUS P6X58D-E and Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R.

Conclusion: Being able to increase the BCLK during a Furmark stress test, by means of your mobile, is of course a great feature. The reviewers would like to see these features in cheaper mobos in the (near) future. If you want to tweak the last MHz out of your X58 motherboard this might be your choice.

Overclocking: A Core i7 920 CPU was OCed @4.35GHz fully stable with a base clock of 207MHz. The processor cooler was a Danamics LMX.

Benchmarks: Sysmark 2007, PC Mark Vantage, Fra Cry 2, Cinebench R10.

Conclusion: This board has extra features like two USB 3.0 ports, three PCIe x16 slots (one working at x4 speed) and a high-end VRM circuit, this mobo can be considered a mainstream socket AM3 motherboard with all the latest technologies.

Overclocking: The reviewer did not overclock the board, instead there is a dedicated page for the OC options and there are images of BIOS screens. The voltage regulator has an 8+2 phases configuration.

Benchmarks: No benchmarks were tested.

ASRock X58 Extreme3 Intel X58 Chipset legitreviews reviewed the ASRock X58 Extreme3


This mainboard was compared to the EVGA X58 SLi.

Conclusion: This mobo is a very good overclocker, the placement of PCIe x16 is very good because there is an additional slot between the first two slots, so that heat issues between the two graphics cards are avoided. The placement of the audio header was a bit of a problem.

Overclocking: With the ASRock OC Tuner utility the reviewer reached 4.1GHz with a core I7 920. Allthough they used a ThermalTake SpinQ VT 90 temperatures rose to above 90 degrees Celsius. After using a water cooler they finally reached an overclock of 4091MHz with much lower temperatures. Test Setup: -- CPU: Core I7 920 -- Memory: 3x2gb 1600MHz Corsair Dominator PC12800 -- HDD: WD Caviar Black 640gb -- PSU: Corsair HX1000.

Benchmarks: 3DMark and PC Mark Vantage, Sandra 2010, SuperPi, Cinebench, x264HD Video Encoding, H.A.W.X., DiRT 2, Power Consumption. In the gaming benches a HIS Radeon HD5870 Graphics Card was used.

ASRock H55M Pro Intel H55 Chipset iXBT Labs had a look at the ASRock H55M Pro


This board was not compared to another motherboard.

Conclusion: Allthough this mobo is quite cheap it provides you with the necessary features to build a modern PC. DisplayPort and resolutions over 1080p are not supported. The two PCIe slots have reduced CrossFireX and there's no sata3 or USB3 support.

Overclocking: The reviewers did not perform any overclocking. The VRM has 4+1+1 phases: 4 for the CPU core, 1 for the memory and 1 for the IGP. Because of this overclocking will probably not lead to world records.

DFI MI P55-T36 Mini ITX Intel P55 Chipset pureoverclock reviewed the DFI MI P55-T36 Mini ITX


This mini ITX board was not compared to another motherboard.

Conclusion: The T36 mini ITX has a smart layout, good features and facilitates overclocking. A dedicated video card can be installed in the PCIe slot. This mobo was not designed for heavy overclocking, it has a extensive streamlined BIOS, but there were also some OC issues. Based on the P55 chipset means that this board has no onboard graphics card, in other words you'll allways need a discrete video card. HTPC cases are usually very small, so this could be a problem.

Overclocking: A core i3 540 was overclocked @3.8GHz.

Benchmarks: There are no benchmark results.

Gigabyte GA-MA890GPA-UD3H AMD 890GX Chipset rbmod reviewed the Gigabyte GA-MA890GPA-UD3H & GA-MA790X-UD3P


The ASUS M4A785TD-M is also included in the benchmark results.

Conclusion: The 890GX chipset had better results in the tests. The IGP is not meant for hardcore gaming, but it is a good alternative for the Intel GMA graphics accelerator. If you enjoy overclocking, the 790X might be your choice because it supports ACC and Phenom X2(X3) core unlocking, while the new 890 chipset does not support this feature anymore.

Overclocking: The reviewers did not perform any overclocking. Test Setup: -- CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 905 -- Memory: 4GB Corsair 1600MHz CL7 DDR3 & 4GB A-DATA 800MHz DDR2 -- Graphics Card: ECS Geforce 9800GT.

ASUS Maximus III Extreme Intel P55 Chipset hardwarecanucks reviewed the ASUS Maximus III Extreme


This mainboard was compared to the ASUS Maximus III Formula.

Conclusion: This mobo looks downright awesome, the layout is perfect and the cooling system proved quite adept at handling the motherboard's heat output. Tt's operational record was spotless and the numerous included applications and features all functioned perfectly. The reviewers weren't able to try some of the cool new functions like ROG Connect Bluetooth, because they didn't have the right mobile phone for this. The dual SLI performaned not as good as expected from a x16/x16 configuration.

Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 Chipset ITShootout reviewed the Asus P6X58D-E


This mainboard was compared to the ASUS P6T and the Gigabyte GA-X58-A-UD3R.

Conclusion: This board has a superb performance and very good overclocking facilities. Next to that it has a very good layout and it is well priced.

Overclocking: The reviewers has a stable 24/7 base clock overclock @220MHz with a core i7 920.

Benchmarks: Sysmark 2007, PC mark Vantage, Far Cry 2, Cinebench R10.

Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H Intel H55 Chipset iXBT labs had a look at Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H


This mainboard was not compared to any other motherboard.

Conclusion: This cheap mobo could be a solid foundation for a HTPC, allthough modern standerds like SATA3 and USB3 are not included, HDMI, DisplayPort, FireWire and eSATA are present.

Overclocking: The reviewers did not perform any overclocking. They have some remarks about the VRM which is not cooled and the number of phases and FETs is small, because of this the board will probably not give you OC records.

Benchmarks: RightMark Audio Analyzer 6.0.

ASRock H55M-LE Intel H55 Chipset motherboards.org reviewed the ASRock H55M-LE


This mainboard was compared to the ECS H55M, ASUS P7H55D-M EVO,Gifabyte H55M-USB3, Intel DH55TC.

Conclusion: We couldn't figure out if there was a conclusion for this board. Here's part of the conclusion: 'quote' -- Another consideration is support for DisplayPort, and HDMI as well as support for USB 3.0. Gigabyte's board is excellent feature-wise for an inexpensive board with support for USB 3.0, CrossfireX and DDR3-2200 memory. Performance is excellent on the board as well. -- 'end quote'.

Overclocking: A Core i5-661 (3.33GHz) was overclocked my @3.96GHz. The reviewer was not able to use Turbo mode 50. For a Pentium G9650 processor there is a Turbo 100 option for a maximum of 100% performance increase. Memory: 2x2GB 1600MHz Kingston KHX1600 DDR3 @1333MHz -- Air cooler: Thermaltake SpinQ LGA-1156 CPU cooler -- PSU: Thermaltake 1000W.

Benchmarks: Sisoft Sandra, SYSmark 2007, PC mark and 3D mark Vantage, WPRIME, Specview 10, x264 encoding, Cinebench. In the gaming benchmarks an ATI HD 4870 1GB was used.

ECS H57H-MUS Intel H57 Chipset guru3d reviewed the ECS H57H-MUS


This mainboard was compared the the ECS H55H-M and the Gigabyte GA-H57M, and lots of processors from an Athlon X2 7850BE to a Core i7 975.

Conclusion: The USB controller is not on the motherboard, but on an add-on card, an onboard solution would have been preferred. The SATA3 is running over x1 PCIe (only 2.5 Gbps), which immediately takes away bandwidth, especially with several drives used simultaneously, x4 PCIe would have been a better choice....more

EVGA P55 Classified 200 Intel P55 Chipset ninjalane reviewed the EVGA P55 Classified 200


This mainboard was compared to the Foxconn Quantum Force Inferno Katana and the EVGA X58 LE.

Conclusion: The Classified motherboard series focuses on performance, the NF200 chip takes care of the additional 16x lanes of PCI Express bandwidth for triple SLi. This board is a great overclocker, with the included ECP (External Control Panel) you can tune and tweak your mobo.

Overclocking: A core i5 750 was overclocked @ 4304.7MHz BCLK @205MHz. A custom watercooler and 6GB of Corsair Dominator GT PC2000 DDR3 (7-8-7-21) memory were used to achieve this result.

Benchmarks: Quake 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Crysis, Xvid Encoding, Bapco SYSmark 2007, SiSoft Sandra. In the gaming benches a VisionTek 3870 graphics card was used.

ASUS P7P55D-E Premium Intel P55 Chipset ixbtlabs had a look at the ASUS P7P55D-E Premium


This mainbord was not compared to any other board.

Conclusion: The ASUS P7P55D series is one of the best choices for a P55 board, with support for USB3 and SATA3 without limiting other interfaces. The motherboard has a VRM with 48 hybrid lanes. The scheme is 32 lanes for the CPU core + 3 lanes for the uncore logic, including the memory controller. The bundle is similar to that of P7P55D Deluxe, it includes six SATA cables with latches an SLI bridge, a few other items and most important the TurboV Remote for overclocking by pressing a button.

Overclocking: iXbitlabs did not perform any overclocking.

Benchmarks: RightMark Audio Analyzer 6.0.

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Intel X58 Chipset tweaktown reviewed the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7


This motherboard was compared to the ASUS P6X58D.

Conclusion: Overall the X58A-UD7 is a well-rounded board, with 2 GBe LAN ports, SATA3, XHD RAID, USB3, multiple cooling choices, 24-power phases and great overclocking software (EasyTune 6). The editors gave it an overall rating of 85%.

Overclocking: With a Core i7 980X the reviewers reached a final stable clock result of 4.238GHz, the BCLK was 163MHz. Using The OC utility Easy Tune 6 their result was 4.0GHz. Memory: 3x2GB 1600MHz DDR3 PC12800 Kingston. Air cooler: Cooler Maste Hyper 212 with 2 fans.

Benchmarks: Andra, Everest, HyperPi, PC and 3D mark Vantage, Cinebench 11.5, AutoGK, LightWave 9.6, COD Modern Warfare, Far Cry 2, Battle Field Bad company 2, Power consumption, Temperature. In the gaming benchmarks an AMD Radeon 5870 1GB was used.

Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H AMD 890GX Chipset hardocp reviewed the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H


This mobo was compared to the ASUS P7P55D DLx, P6T6 WS, MSI P55-GD80.

Conclusion: The board performed very well in both stock and overclocked scenarios. Given its feature set and the overall price point of AMD processors and solutions, this is definitely a good mainboard for budget minded enthusiasts. There were no problems setting up and using the board, and the overclocking was easy to get going.

Overclocking: An AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE was OCed @3.9GHz vcore 1.5v. Memory: 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz Patriot VIPER PVV34G2000LLK. Water cooling: Koolance 345.

ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AMD 785G Chipset benchmarkreviews reviewed the ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO


This motherboard was compared to the MSI P965 NEO and Intel BOXDG41MJ.

Conclusion: The M4A785TD-M EVO outperforms the G41 based platforms, the 128 MB sideport memory for the HD 4200 makes it a great performer in terms of multi-media usage, allthough you cannot play modern games. This mobo is also easy to overclock and the BIOS is setup in a convenient and understandable manner that is easy to use. The editors gave it a Golden Tachometer Award.

Overclocking: In the Cinebench benchmark the AMD Athlon-II X2-255 (3.1GHz) was overclocked to 3.8GHz. Memory: 4GB PC12800 DDR3 1600MhzPatriot Gamer Series.

Benchmarks: 3D and PC Mark Vantage, Cinebench R11.5, Passmark, Resident Evil 5. For the gaming benchmarks a MSI NVIDIA GeFORCE 9800GTX+ was used to give you an idea how the onboard HD 4200 is positioned.

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Intel X58 Chipset motherboards.org reviewed the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7


The board was compared to the ASRock X58 Extreme, ASUS P6T Deluxe, ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution, P6X58D Premium, ECS X58B-A Black Series, EVGA X58 3X SLi Classified 760, MSI X58 Eclipse, X58M and finally the XFX MB-X58I-CH19.

Conclusion: This board is packed with new features, including SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0, dual-slot 3-way SLI with four PCI Express slots making it an extreme board for gamers. It's ready for the upcoming Gulftown CPUs and it is a great overclocker.

Overclocking: A Core i7 920 was overclocked @3.7GHz, the memory used was 3x1GB DDR3 1600MHz PC12800 Kingston and the PSU was a Cooler Master UCP 1000W.

Benchmarks: Sisoft Sandra , CPUBench, PiFast, Sysmark 2007, PC Mark 2005, PCmark Vantage, 3D Mark 2006 and Vantage, Crystalmark 2004, wPrime, SpecViewPerf. The ATI RADEON HD 4870 1GB graphics card was used in the gaming benchmarks.

ASRock H55DE3 Intel H55 Chipset bcchardware reviewed the H55DE3


This mainboard was compared to an ASRock X58 and an EVGa x58.

Conclusion: The ASRock H55DE3 has a very good price/performance ratio. It offers everything you need, a good layout, the overclocking results were OK, SATA support is fast. This mobo has a good network performance and the board does it without active cooling. The cons: there are no rear brackets and the accessories are poor besides that there's no Crossfire bridge and it lacks firewire.

This motherboard was compared to the Intel DP55KG Kingsberg and its own overclocking results in the benchmarks.

This mainboard was not compared to any other board, instead it was compared to its own overclocking result @3.8GHz.

Conclusion: This mobo represents a good value and is perfect for the casual gamer. With a discrete GPU it could be used for serious gaming. This board does not support 125W Athlons/Phenoms though, on the other hand it's quite cheap.....more
